?VOTERGATE? DOCUMENTARY IN ORANGE COUNTY ON JUNE 22
?Votergate," a documentary by producers Simon Ardizzone, Russell Michaels and Robert Carrillo Cohen, will be shown on Wednesday, June 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Costa Mesa at the Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church, 1259 Victoria St. Cohen will be in attendance at the event for questions and answers. Admission is free to the public and free parking is available at the church facility.
?Votergate? resulted from cross-country travels by the producers during 2004 and 2005. According to Open Voting Consortium, the documentary is a record of elections, bewildered voters, activist protests, and attempts by corporate and government officials to cover up voting system flaws.
The Open Voting Consortium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, maintenance, and delivery of open voting systems for use in public elections, seeking to establish institutionalized protocols that enable public monitoring of all aspects of election administration.
Lara Shaffer, Director of Development for the Open Voting Consortium, will be in attendance at the Orange County event and will demonstrate the open voting system after the screening, then discuss why we need an open voting system and how it would facilitate election administration monitoring.
