?The Corporation,? a documentary by Mark Achbar, Jennifer Abbott and Joel Bakan, is based on the book entitled The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power by Bakan. The film has won 24 international awards, including the audience award for documentary in world cinema at the 2004 Sundance Film festival.

According to www.thecorporation.com, the film explores the nature and spectacular rise of the dominant institution of our time. Footage from pop culture, advertising, TV news and corporate propaganda illuminate the corporation?s grip on our lives. Taking its legal status as a ?person? to its logical conclusion, the film puts the corporation on the psychiatrist?s couch to ask ?What kind of person is it??

For more information about the film, visit www.thecorporation.com. To contact the church and find out more about upcoming social justice events, visit www.ocuuc.org or call (949) 646-4652.
