Poet/educator Peggy DoBreer will speak on "The Largess of Nature" on June 26 at the 11:00am Sunday Service of the First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles, 2936 West 8th Street. This talk will explore faith and interconnectedness through the personal nonviolent qualities of reverence and creativity. A practitioner and student of practical mysticism, Peggy Dobreer has served as a teaching assistant for many semesters of Practical Mysticism at the Ernest Holmes Institute. From 1994-1999, she was a transition support team member delivering Sunday evening services of mystical traditions and affirmative spoken word.
Ms. Dobreer, who became a licensed religious science practitioner in 1996, has stumbled and soared through a lifelong inquiry and juxtaposition of spirituality and art, reverence and creativity, accidental Catholicism, reformed Judaism, physical Zen Buddhism, Dance, Design, and the Theatre of Presence. She is currently considering the Jain traditions, including: anekantevada, the idea of ‘just war’, and professional life selection and nonviolent adherence.
