FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 7PM Films for Peace presents: "CHAVEZ, VENEZUELA, AND THE NEW LATIN AMERICA"
In this documentary, Hugo Chavez, the democratically elected president of Venezuela, describes what really happened in 2002 when he survived a coup attempt instigated in the United States. In this dynamic film, Hugo Chavez explains the origins of the "Bolivarian Revolution", the role of Venezuela in a changing Latin America and talks about Venezuela's many social programs which benefit the people.
The documentary affords a rare opportunity to glimpse through the blockade of information imposed by the United States into a country rich with hope, dreams and oil.
