The life of one of the nation's most prominent Latino civil-rights and labor leaders, Bert Corona, will be celebrated at a memorial event honoring his legacy. Also being honored and remembered will be the late Miguel Contreras, secretary-treasurer of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 28, 2005.
The celebration will be held at the offices of Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, 2501 S. Hill St., at the corner of 25th and Hill streets in Los Angeles, at 11 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. The program will consist of an exhibition, testimonials, documentaries, food, and entertainment. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the event.
