We are having the Iraqi Veterans Against the War and the Coalition Against Militarism in Schools come speak on our campus. At LACC, and all of the LA community colleges, we have had the pesky problem of aggressive army recruitment, (though not many people at our school support their presence). Our organization, the Students for Educational Reform wants to put on a teach-in for our fellow students and the general public to become aware of the discriminatory recruitement practices aginst gays and also low-income, people of color. Also the realities of War, are not glamourous, and the Veterans who have been there can explain. So, come by, bring friends, email for more info...
