FILMS S FOR PEACE PRESENTS:
"The Revolution Will Not Be Televised: Inside the Chavez Coup"
FRIDAY MAY 20, at 7:00PM
On April 12, 2002, economic elites in Venezuela overthrew democratically elected leader, President Hugo Chavez, kidnapping him at gunpoint.
In this gripping documentary you become witness to a coup actually taking place in Venezuela. Demonstrators, mostly poor and working people of color, converged in the thousands, proclaiming their loyalty to Chavez.
Remarkable footage of the anxiety and despair of his supporters, and the unexpected joy that greeted his restoration two days later.
The documentary should prove warmly encouraging to embattled progressives.
