A gentleman from Los Angeles was visiting a quarter horse ranch in Texas. He noted the Texas people had a lovely home, five barns, a remuda of quality horses and excellent soil to raise crops and grass. After looking at the prize-winning horses in the stables, the visitor saw one fine horse in the pasture wearing a set of armlet and shackles on its first legs. He turned to the owner of the ranch and asked, “Why do you have that beautiful horse tethered?” The owner said, “I can’t let him run free”, said the rancher. “He might wound himself if I set him free.
He has a tendency .to leap over fences and everything else that gets in his way.” “His adversity is for his own good. I’d hate to see that beautiful horse cut himself badly on the wire or fall and possibly break his leg.
I have to protect him from his own foolish whimsies.” “Well” admitted the visitor, “even people need a little shackling once a while.” The Saints of God often pass through times of trouble, trial and adversity. Our circumstances frequently act as shackles and seem to slow our progress and disrupt. Our daily course; God always has a purpose in allowing these obstructing things to happen. Do you even know your life is a series of tests?
When troubles arise, you can remember Satan is always trying to throw a stumbling block on your way as Christians. Sometimes, in our lives, God in His infinite wisdom allows trials and troubles to come our ways. What God is trying to do was that, He wants you to grow and be strengthened in your life for His glory? The true child of God may cry out, saying, what kind of problem is this? Since God permitted it to happen. Promotion is on your way; there must be changes in your life? God will not allow you to fall.
Paul said, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8: 28)
Remember, God is in control. By destiny, God planned for you to be His child. He decided to make you in the image of His dear son, Jesus. You are born in sin; some changes are necessary. God knows what they are. He wants you to be like Christ! Beloved let the troubles and trials… the adversities of your life change you to be like him.
