The Southern California Library will hold a community valentine?s celebration, What's Love Got to Do with It?, featuring poetry and music on Friday, February 18, at SAJE, located at 152 W. 32nd Street, Los Angeles. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. The suggested donation is but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Everyone is welcome.
The event will provide an opportunity to celebrate Valentine?s Day in community and move toward reclaiming love in our language, our history, our dancing, our work, and our lives. It will feature ?A Few Words About Love?: at 10 p.m., poetry from Peter J. Harris and the Inspiration House Poetry Choir and at midnight poetry from Kat Corrido and Alfie Debojo of the Balactasan Collective. DJ Max and Divine Forces Radio will spin music to move the spirit at 10:30 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Library.
