In the last election values in general, and religious values in particular, became a lightning rod for the electorate, or did they? Some of us were left wondering about the role that values have come to ply in civic affairs. As citizens and members of diverse faith communities, we need to look at questions of values, conscience formation, public policy and the public good.

Beginning February 7th 2005 and the first Monday of every month through June, we meet in the tradition of the philosophers' cafe. People of various perspectives will have an opportunity to dialogue in an open and respectful public forum. A panel of speakers drawn from different religious, academic and political organizations lead off the discussion by summarizing the theological and moral positions they assume in relation to the topic of the evening.
