DESCRIPTION:
The San Diego Women?s Chorus is honored to present Women Rising: Our Legacy through Story and Song, with special guest artists the Black Storytellers of San Diego, on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at The Center (3909 Centre Street) in Hillcrest. The performance is a celebration of both Black History and Women's History Months, and will feature pieces that entertain and commemorate significant events in women?s histories, including the labor, suffrage, and civil rights movements. Weaving poetry, prose and song, the program celebrates the legacies of women, celebrating their experiences, struggles, and triumphs. The San Diego Women?s Chorus is also excited to announce that The Women?s History Museum & Educational Center will display an exhibit on women?s histories and stories at the event.

The event is open to the public. General admission tickets are each or two for . Student/senior/military tickets are each, and children 12 and under are admitted for free. Tickets are available at the Obelisk Bookstore, ART TIX booth in downtown San Diego, through chorus members, and at the door. A reception will immediately follow the performance.
