DESCRIPTION:

4 Little Girls (1997, 102 minutes) September 15, 1963 - a bomb tears through the basement of a black Baptist Church and takes the lives of four young girls. This racially motivated crime brings Birmingham, Alabama to the forefront of the civil rights movement. It was the incident that awakened liberal America to the true depth of the hatred and resistance to integration. Still, more than a decade passed before a notorious white supremacist, Robert "Dynamite Bob" Chambliss, was convicted of the crime. His alleged co-conspirators were never charged. Features archival film footage, home photographs and comments by surviving family members. Directed by Spike Lee, this was his first documentary.
