Saludos a todos, We've strangely made it to another year, and here's crossing our fingers that this is a good one! Just a reminder about the next Perpetual Motion Roadshow happening this Thursday Jan. 6 at 7patm, details http://www.nomediakings.net here's some info:
More or Les combines intelligent rhymes with funk instrumentals and bombastic beats on his debut album, I only stop for the Red Ants. Known for his funny, socially conscious rhymes and encyclopedic knowledge of Hip Hop, More Or Les wants to play games with you. Through the magic of music, a dictionary and a live studio audience, More Or Les will put your brain and his rhyme skills to the test. The game is called Word Play, the fun is intentional, and the local spelling bee champ had better watch out... (www.villainworship.com)
Stephen Notley is a cartoonist, writer and illustrator, creator of the popular on-and-off-line weekly strip Bob the Angry Flower which appears in a number of far-flung publications across North America as well as in four best-selling collections. Among Notley's other dubious achievements are illustration jobs for Popcap.com, collage work for Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed, years of script reading and analysis for Superchannel/Corus Entertainment plus additional years of movie reviewing for a multitude of publications. He is currently working on his fifth book and intends to enlighten while he entertains. (www.angryflower.com)
Christa Donner is a Chicago-based, nationally-exhibited artist who creates small-press zines and comics. As the contributing editor and publisher of Ladyfriend Zine, she invites a wide variety of "ladies and all their friends" to share their experiences through interviews, essays, comics, and more. She's also the creator of "Free Advice," a new zine project for which she collects feedback from strangers, covering everything from illness to childbirth to flight phobia. Christa will read stories from both zines, and she'll collect even more advice from volunteers at the end of the show. (http://www.ladyfriend.homestead.com, and http://christadonner.com)
