Following the enormous success of ABC's "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, two stars of the Emmy nominated series, have teamed up to present an evening of improvisational comedy benefiting the PeaceJam Foundation. PeaceJam is an international education program built around 12 leading Nobel Peace Laureates who work personally with youth to pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody.
Since 1996, almost 200,000 youth have worked with the 12 Nobel Peace Laureates and learned to be leaders in their own communities.
The benefit will be an evening of outstanding comedy and music. Using their quick wit, Mochrie and Sherwood take contributions from the audience to create hilarious and original scenes. Throughout the evening, the show becomes truly interactive as audience members are called to the stage to participate in the fun.
Their high-profile presentations have played to sold-out theaters and universities all over the country. Opening the evening will be The Go, who are prime exponents of Detroit's legendary garage rock scene. The Go will play an unplugged set which will showcase their extraordinary songwriting skills.
More on Colin Mochrie + Brad Sherwood:
Due to the overwhelming response of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" both Mochrie and Sherwood can be seen performing on television over fifteen times a week, between ABC, Comedy Central, and ABC Family. Mochrie & Sherwood are also starring along with Drew Carey and other top improvisers on the "Green Screen," a new improv-animated series that recently premiered on the WB network.
Colin Mochrie began his improv career when he was first introduced to Ryan Stiles (co-star of "The Drew Carey Show," "Whose Line Is It Anyway," and "Green Screen") by a friend and the two teamed up. Shortly after doing Expo '86, Colin moved to Toronto. There, he auditioned for The Second City (a famous North American comedy theater), where Stiles was working at the time. Mochrie worked with The Second City ensemble for three years.
Mochrie's first appearance on "Whose Line is it Anyway?", the British version, was in 1991. ABC TV then hired Mochrie as one of the principals in the American version of the smash comedy.
Mochrie's career has "taken wing." He spent last summer touring with the Improv All Stars, and in the fall he continued to travel with "An Evening with Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood." He's been heavily involved in independent and small movie projects and is even involved in "The Movie Co-Op," which is a Canadian venture to help produce great Canadian movies funded by and run by the artists themselves. Mochrie also has a new CBC television project currently in development with his wife Debra McGrath.
Brad Sherwood, who is originally from Santa Fe, NM, is a regular cast member on ABC's "Whose Line is it Anyway?" He was also a regular for three seasons on the British version of "Whose Line." His past credits include "The Drew Carey Show," a season on "LA Law" as Jill Eikenberry's love-struck nanny, and a cast member on "The Newz," a critically acclaimed sketch-comedy series. Recently, Sherwood appeared as a regular on "To Tell the Truth," "Drew Carey Live" and was an Improv All-Star on Showtime's "Live from Vegas."
