Surplus: Terrorized into being consumers Directed and produced by Erik Gandini
- - Why is the lifestyle of consumerism a source of such rage today? - - How come the privilege of buying goods does not automatically lead to happiness? - - Why all this emptiness despite our wealth?
The discussion will present the origins of civilization; focusing primarily on domestication and alienation, a critique of the modern left, and perspectives on subjects of technology, division of labor, production, organization, representation, mass society, morality, progress, autonomy, and liberation. Feral Visions presentation will conclude with a more practical discussion on resistance, the need to be critical, creating healthier ways of interaction, and rewilding.
