There are many factors that impact the "quality" of education: overcrowding, lack of resouces, low student achievement, poor student health, irrelevant and racist curriculum, untrained and inexperienced teachers, to name just a few. There is also a lot of work that can be done, and is being done, to overcome these barriers to quality education for poor children of color! Don't miss this opportunity to find out what is happening, and to share your ideas about, to imnprove the quality of education in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). You will have the opportunity to meet and dialogue with people involved in these efforts, including the District One Board Member, Genethia Hudley Hayes, and other community organizers.
