Feral Visions - A presentation by the Green Anarchy Collective

Film Screening and Discussion at the CCM

Thursday, November 11 at 7pm

Cultural Center of Mexico (el-centro.org)

Edinger & Main in Santa Ana

This event will be a film screening of the video Surplus; the hard look into the grotesque nature of civilization and the multifaceted resistance to it. The film tackles weighty themes like consumption, technology, objectification, and domination. An in-depth presentation and discussion will follow the film.

Surplus: Terrorized into being consumers

Directed and Produced by Erik Gandini

-Why is the lifestyle of consumerism a source of such rage today?

-How come the privilege of buying goods does not automatically lead to

happiness?

-Why all this emptiness despite our wealth?

This event will present the origins of civilization; focusing primarily on domestication and alienation, a critique of the modern left, and perspectives on subjects of technology, division of labor, production,

organization, representation, mass society, morality, progress, autonomy, and liberation. Feral Visions presentation will conclude with a more practical discussion on resistance, the need to be critical, creating healthier ways of interaction, and rewilding.

Free food and refreshments provided by San Clemente Food Not Bombs.

All donations go to benefit the CCM and Green Anarchy Journal. No one turned away for lack of funds.
