The Commissioners of Californians United for a Responsible Budget (CURB), in alliance with the No New Jails Coalition (L.A. County), invite you to a PUBLIC HEARING.
This will be the second public hearing by the CURB Commissioners, who are traveling the state to hear from organizations such as yours about what direction California should take to make our communities more stable and hopeful.
This hearing will put forth an alternative vision to Measure A before the elections. The hearing will gather testimony from grassroots organizations and community members about how they would use the 0 million Measure A would raise to make our communities safer, by doing more of the important work they're already doing.
Commissioners appointed by CURB will include USC Professor Ruth Wilson Gilmore, former chief probation officer John Lum, and New Way of Life's Susan Burton, with possible guest commissioner Tom Hayden.
The No New Jails Coalition and CURB together represent over 50 organizations throughout the State and in Los Angeles County.
