Asian Pacific Islanders for Human Rights (APIHR) / 'Ohana House presents the 'Ohana Awards on October 24 at 4:30PM at the LA Gay and Lesbian Center's Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The Awards honor community members for the work they have done for the Asian Pacific Islander (API) Lesbian Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) family and community. Honorees include:
Friends of 'Ohana Award: Outfest, for their work in producing Fusion, the nation's first LGBT people of color Film Festival.
?Ohana Person of the Year Award: Terry Gock, Ph.D., Asian Pacific Family Center; Michele Horn Davis, FTM Alliance of Los Angeles
Ohana Courage Award: Amy Hill, actress/writer/improviser
Ohana Media Award: Los Angeles Asian Journal, Premier Newspaper for the Filipino Community
?Ohana Spirit Award: Darrel Cummings, L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center
?Ohana Achievement Award: Henry Lo, out Garvey School Board Member
