Come listen to the heartfelt, witty songs and empire critiques performed by folksinger David Rovics and singer/satirist Dave Lippman. Their collective repertoire includes material on Wal-mart, NAFTA, sweatshops, the Bush administration, Palestine, agitators, even pie-throwing brigades. Both performers work as modern day troubadors, delivering the stories of communities organizing for human rights against globalization, multinational corporations, and fragmentation of our communities, the kinds of important social justice narratives that corporate media doesn't cover. Both non-corporate performers have a long history of performing at rallies and demonstrations. This evening promises to be inspiring, entertaining, and educational. This event is co-sponsored by L.A. Sound Posse, a nonprofit collective that records social justice talks and places them in the public domain, and Tia Chucha?s Caf? Cultural, a caf? and bookstore that offers workshops, art exhibits, presentations, readings, musical acts, and family events.
