In solidarity with tens of thousands of people who are marching in New York to protest the Republican agenda, we are gathering to add our voices in a resounding, "NO!" If you can't get to New York, now you can do something right here!
We will have banners and signs, and we encourage participants to use their own creativity to express their opposition to the Republican agenda. We express our support for peace and justice, for healthcare and education having priority over war and destruction, for equal rights for all, for an end to all occupations, for the rights of peoples to determine their own systems and forms of government, and for our natural environment.
Note that this is a vigil, and we are sharing the park with its Sunday users. Also, check out the Arlington West Memorial down below on the sand just north of the Pier. It's a moving display of 900+ crosses in the sand for the Iraq war dead. A note mentions that Iraqi dead would fill up the entire beach.
