In 1804 slaves in Haiti defeated what was the greatest army of its day, Napoleon's Army. Haiti became the first nation ever born as a result of a slave rebellion. In 2004, a US backed coup removed the first democratically elected President of Haiti. But the spirit of the Haitian Revolution lives on.
