The Alhambra Vigil needs a big turnout this Friday, June 25 (6/25).
NEW start time 5:30PM. Corner of Main and Garfield in Alhambra.
REASON:
Last week (6/18) there were about 10-15 counter demonstrators across the street, on the south-east corner of Main and Garfield. They were waving the American, Israeli and Brit flag and carrying pro-war, pro-bush signs. Our turnout was the usual 30-35. There were no major confrontations but we are anticipating a return by them this week, possibly with more people. We want to show them that this is our corner and our vigil and that we are the majority.
Bring your friends and family and let's stand together against the pro-war contingent. This is your chance to come to the Vigil if you haven't been before. Bring your own sign or use the ones that are provided.
Park in the movie theater parking lot of along the side streets. There is
also public parking on 1st and Main, 1 block west.
