DESCRIPTION:

Salute the international working class at a May Day gathering featuring the rousing oratory of pioneering Seattle tradeswoman Heidi Durham. Durham is a labor reporter for the Freedom Socialist newspaper, and a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 77.
Durham will examine why U.S. workers are laboring harder and harder for less and less in wages and benefits and how the union movement can return to its radical roots to put up a winning fight for workers in this country and around the world. She'll also take a look at the global picture and long term solutions to war, bigotry, religious fanaticism and utterly corrupt electoral systems such as the one we have in the United States.
The program also will feature a rousing sing-along of labor tunes. A Spring Supper will be served after the program for a .50 donation. Door donation is .00 (sliding scale and work exchanges available for low income and strikers).
