DESCRIPTION:
Premiering on EARTH DAY, April 22, for 7 days and nights filmmakers from around the world unite at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. to witness and address the necessity of art and activism in our global community. These activist artists 'Artivists', are bound together in their belief that actions do create change and no voice goes unheard. This year?s films highlight: Intl Human Rights, Children?s Advocacy, Animal Rights, Environmental Preservation, and Spirituality. The diversity of films being presented at The 1st Annual Artivist Film Festival reflects our mission of creating an artistic, activist arena for global awareness.

Every day, there are EVENING FORUMS, bringing together diverse voices on provocative topics. Following each forum, our highlighted featured film of the day will offer a creative look into the issues discussed.

Live musical guests play every evening in the main courtyard of the Egyptian Theatre after the forums.

We are proud to present Ed Begley Jr., Tippi Hedren, Mike Farrell, and France Nuyen, as the individual honorees of The 2004 Artivist Awards.

The 2004 Artivist Awards will also pay tribute to its beneficiary charities: Greenpeace, The Humane Society of the United States, The Child Welfare League of America and WITNESS. The 2004 Artivist Awards is a multi-faceted event devoted to the films, the individuals and the organizations that have brought Art and Activism to the forefront of our global society.
