THE CALIFORNIA FACULTY ASSOCIATION ASKS YOU TO JOIN US TO
PROTEST BUDGET CUTS TO CAL STATE UNIVERSITY
RALLY MONDAY APRIL 26TH 11:30AM--1:30PM
AT THE GOVERNOR'S REGIONAL OFFICE
300 S. SPRING STREET, DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
Sample of the proposed CSU budget cuts and fee hikes:
---proposes $ 240 million in cuts; a net reduction of 1 million in two
years!
--increases State Base graduate fees by 40%. This amounts to 110% increase
in two years---Our teachers and nurses cannot afford this!
--increases State Base undergraduate fees by 10%--a 58% increase in two
years. Will access to a college degree in California belong only to the wealthy?
--reduces enrollment of new freshmen by 10%
--eliminates EOP, affecting 35,000 students. The educational opportunity
program has helped tens of thousands of low income students get a college
degree!
--reduces Cal Grant awards
Stop the Budget Cuts! Save the CSU! Education is a Right!
