In honor of the one year anniversary of the start of the war on Iraq we will be showing:
Winter Soldier (1971, 90 minutes)
Winter Solder captures the historic testimonies of more than 200 ex-GIs at the 1971 Detroit Winter Soldier Investigation concerning American atrocities in Vietnam. The film, made about and with the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, was a prize winner at Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals. Not surprisingly, Winter Solder was largely ignored during the Vietnam War by American press and distributors. Made by fifteen independent filmmakers of the Winterfilm Collective, including Fred Aranow, who will join us for a discussion afterward.
