February marks the 36th anniversary of the Memphis Sanitation Strike. Now 70,000 grocery workers are on strike or have been locked out for five months all over Southern California in a battle to save healthcare and decent wages. Picketers Annmarie Antonio, Jesse Gonzanez, Katie Lowman and Michael Macras will discuss how this conflict is important to all workers, and why community/labor solidarity is important to win the battle.
The .00 door donation will benefit the striking workers. A Blue-collar supper will be served after the program for a .50 donation. Low income and work exchanges available, strikers admitted free. This event will happen even if the strike is settled.
Bring money and non perishable food for the strike fund.
