It is a strange gift we give ourselves to stand there every week. We have been cheered by many honks of support, ignored by people who don't want to be confronted and cursed by those who disagree. A lot of honks before the war and a lot of curses right after. Now that the consequences of our government's actions are coming home so painfully to roost, the reactions have changed again. We can see people struggling with the new
truths they see.
Our greatest hope by keeping up the vigil is that one day there won't be a need for us to be there. Softball, anyone?
