Winners of the 2024 Beverly Hills National Auditions, Magic Strings have earned a reputation as a distinctive, dynamic, and accomplished ensemble, performing on traditional Eastern European instruments.
Their unique sound features the domra, a stringed instrument with a thin, fretted neck and round body, first documented in the late 15th century; the balalaika, a three-stringed triangular instrument; and the bayan, a type of accordion.
Their diverse repertoire spans music from Ukraine, Brazil, Eastern Europe, as well as classical and original compositions.
