download PDF (597.4 kibibytes) Americans United for Separation of Church and State presents Barry Lynn.

Barry was the executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State from 1992 to his retirement in 2017. He is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and a prominent attorney. After law school, Lynn worked with the United Church of Christ to help gain amnesty for young men who chose desertion to protest the Vietnam War. He then worked for the ACLU and worked on church-state issues Before going to Americans United, Lynn held positions related to religious liberties.

His life as a fighter for the First Amendment is chronicled in his 3-volume memoir “Paid to Piss People Off” which he will discuss with us.
