After years of harassment and abuse of the tenants at 1719 Whitley Ave, Fari Moshfegh has tried every trick in the book to evict his tenants. The list is long and will give you nightmares this Christmas; illegal construction, stealing tenants’ stoves, stealing their heaters, breaking into tenant’s apartments unannounced, physically threatening tenants, refusing to make repairs FOR YEARS, and intimidating tenants into accepting cash for keys. And now Fari Moshfegh is trying one last trick; Ellis Act Evictions.
All of this so Fari Moshfegh can demolish 34 rent-controlled apartments and construct a ten-story party hotel on a residential street. Next door to senior housing.
Come out on Sunday, December 1 to show your solidarity with the tenants of 1719 Whitley Ave. December 1 is a special day in Hollywood. And we will use this day, the start of the Holiday season, to tell the world about the abuses of slumlord, Fari Moshfegh.
This action will kick off L.A. Tenants Union Days of Rage 2019 – over a week of protests across the city demanding an end to all evictions. STOP ALL EVICTIONS!
TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION: Call Fari Moshfegh and DEMAND that he withdraws the Ellis Act evictions and that he stop harassing the tenants at 1719 Whitley Ave! Ellis Act evictions will create MORE homelessness in a citywide eviction and homeless crisis! Call: 310-836-0308.
