Topanga Peace Alliance Film: SUPERPOWER
The Topanga Peace Alliance 162nd Consecutive First Friday Film Night
"SUPERPOWER" Friday, October 5th, at the Topanga Library Snack Pot Luck at 7:15, Movie 7:30. Discussion with filmmaker after the film
"SUPERPOWER, America's Quest for Global Dominance through the Military Industrial Complex" goes behind the scenes of America's national security apparatus and military operations to illustrate America's quest for global dominance through economic, political, and military strategies. More relevant now than ever, SUPERPOWER contains dozens of brief historic interviews with notable experts like historian Noam Chomsky, Commander Eric Haney (founder of Delta Force, the Army's counter-terrorist arm), and Dr. Sergei Khrushchev, son of Nikita Khrushchev, to frame this analysis of U.S. foreign policy, SUPERPOWER further exposes this quest for dominance with a comprehensive review of historical events and archival footage. What emerges is a view of U.S. international policy in stark contrast to that depicted by mainstream media and U.S. heads of state.
After the film we will have a presentation by nationally respected community organizer and labor activist, Kwazi Nkrumah who will also lead the discussion.
Before the film, we will have announcements regarding upcoming events and actions for peace and social justice.
