Direct from Baghdad, Amal Al-Khedairy & Nermin Al-Mufti are traveling to offer the American public a rare opportunity to listen to and interact with dynamic Iraqi women. They passionately watn to dispel the assumptions about Iraq by sharing their personal experiences and extensive knowledge of the occupation, and Iraq's culture and people. Amal Al-Khedairy is the founder and director of Al-Beit Al-Iraqi, Iraqi House, an arts and cultural center In Baghdad.
The center remained the only intellectual center in Baghdad throughout the 90s, until its destruction by U.S. bombs in the spring of this year. Nermin Al-Mufti is an internationally recognized Iraqi journalist who produces weekly columns on corruption, the occupation, environmental & gender issues, human rights, education, nutrition, and disease for a well known Iraqi weekly.
