KOREA PEACE FORUM



Join Young Koreans United & the Korean Alliance for Peace and Justice in a forum to learn about and discuss the situation on the Korean peninsula and Korea - U.S. relations.



Featured speakers:

Chung Wook Sik, Representative of CIVIL NETWORK FOR A PEACEFUL KOREA,

CNPK is a South Korean-based organization working for peace and unification of the Korean peninsula.

CHEON WOOK SIK has been writing numerous articles on Korea peace issues and published books: Korea's Choice ?Bush뭩 MD Plan (2001), War and Peace in Korean Peninsula 2003 (2003), War and Peace-How Do We Prepare for the 21st Century (2003). He is an Op-Ed columnist for HanKyoreh Daily and OhmyNews internet media in South Korea. He serves on the board of the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space, and is a leader of the National Korean Committee Against NMD-TMD. He is also a steering committee member of the newly formed National Council for Peace on the Korean Peninsula. www.peacekorea.org



John Feffer, author of North / South Korea: U.S. Policy at a Time of Crisis [Seven Stories Press 2003]

JOHN FEFFER'S books include Beyond Detente: Soviet Foreign Policy and U.S. Options (1990), Shock Waves: Eastern Europe After the Revolutions (1992), Living in Hope: Communities Respond to Globalization (2002); and Power Trip: U.S. Unilateralism and Global Strategy after September 11 (2003). From 1998 to 2001, Feffer worked with the American Friends Service Committee, Tokyo, to establish conflict resolution and tolerance programming for NGO staff in South Korea and to facilitate exchanges between the United States and North Korea. He serves on the advisory committee of Foreign Policy in Focus and the Alliance of Scholars Concerned about Korea. He has visited North Korea three times and South Korea nearly two dozen times.



A representative from the YKU and the Korean Alliance for Peace and Justice will also provide a campaign update.
