Unjust Rent increases, Displacement and ICE Raids are all coordinated attacks on our communities. These attacks on our immigrant, working class communities further increases gentrification and displacement.
Come join the discussion about gentrification and how we can stop it. Come and listen to families and Tenants who have stood up, organized, and fought back against displacement, and won.
Make the connection: the struggle against gentrification is also the struggle for immigrant rights.
The event will consist of three panels:
1. Tenants and Families like the Mariachi Rent strikers and other Tenant Union members that have won their fight against displacement and Gentrification.
2. A short class with LA Tenants Union and Union de Vecinos members where you can learn about your rights as a tenant to stay and fight gentrification.
3. Meet the organizers, community activists and leaders from different Eastside Organizations fighting and actively organizing a grassroots campaign against Gentrification and displacement.
Barrio Si, Gentrification No!
