She has raised concerns over charter schools and is an avid supporter of quality education for all students. She will be discussing the implementation of the FAIR Education Act and the School Success and Opportunity Act (Assembly Bill 1266).

She is also a member of the Tustin City Council, having been elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Along with her council duties, she has held leadership positions with the Orange County Senior Citizens Advisory Council, the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency, the Orange County Library Advisory Board and the Tustin Area Senior Center Fund. Additionally, she was an appointed commissioner for the Orange County Waste Management Commission in 2012-13 and serves as an alternate for the Southern California Association of Governments, the Newport Bay Watershed Executive Committee and the Water Advisory Committee of Orange County.
