I?m hoping to see you at our annual ?Freedom Now? Awards celebration which is shaping up to be a historic gathering, and the *Grand Opening* of the LA CAN Justice and Wellness Center Freedom. It?s happening on June 24th 2017 from 4:00 pm ? 7:00 pm at 838 E. 6th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90021 ? our permanent home.

This year?s honorees will continue the tradition of bringing the most powerful artists, social action academics, activists, and thought leaders together to celebrate LA CAN's work. We will honor *Professor Jody Armour*(USC School of Law), *Artist Emory Douglas (Minister of Culture, Black Panther Party and internationally celebrated graphic artist), *Margaret Prescod* (Radio Personality and global freedom fighter for women?s rights), and, *Ann Sewill*, California Community Foundation.

As always, you will be moved by the words and sounds of both speakers and musical acts. Recording artist, Dwight Trible, is headlining the event but you can count on surprise guests to show up as well.
