May 19th marks the shared common birthday of revolutionary internationalists Malcolm X, founder of the Organization of A fro-American Unity, Ho Chi Minh, leader of the Vietnamese independence struggle, Augusto Cesar Sandino of Nicaragua, and Yuri Kochiyama, a Japanese-American woman, contemporary and ally of Malcolm X, proponent of reparations and redress who passed in 2014. May 19 also marks the anniversary of the passing of Jose Marti, apostle of the Cuban and Puerto Rican independence struggles.

Come celebrate with us at a dinner and cultural-political event sponsored by Anti-Racist Action-LA on Friday, May 19, at the Peace Center, 3916 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City CA 90230 (between Washington Place and Venice Blvd.) -- free parking in rear, dial 22 for entry.
Dinner at 7 PM; we will be serving food, and invite you to bring a dish or dessert to share.

Solomon, bass baritone singer who has performed a one-man show as Paul RobesonPoetry by Michael Novick of ARA-LA/People Against Racist Terror & Change-LinksOther speakers, performers and poets have been invited, including Mo Nishida of Asians for Jericho & Mumia, Ross Altman, and Julio the Conga Poet, and we will have an open mic for you to share a poem or performance inspired by Malcolm, Ho, Sandino, Yuri Kochiyama, and/or Marti.
