This month?s feature film is Fire. Set in New Delhi, this film is about the lives of an extended family who try to cope with living in a proper society. Radha has been married to Ashok for 15 years but lives with the burden that she can't bear a child for him. Sita is forced to marry Jatin who continues to see his Chinese girlfriend. It doesn't take long for Sita to realize that she and Radha are falling in love, against Indian traditions. The film was originally banned in India and caused much controversy over there.
Asian Pacific Islanders for Human Rights (APIHR) has established 'Ohana House, the nation's first API LGBTIQ center. APIHR works to advance the human rights of the Pan Asian/Pacific Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersexual, queer and questioning (LGBTIQ) community.
