Universal Healthcare in California Now: Echo Park Public Meeting

Wednesday, May 17 at 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

Stories BooksandCafe

1716 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90026

Come join this free community meeting to learn how we can acheive universal single-payer healthcare as a right in California. Empower yourself and your family with information. Working people in Los Angeles and California can fight back against the assault on healthcare coming from Washington.

California will not wait for Washington to be fixed to provide its citizens with cost-effective universal healthcare coverage. The United States is the only industrialized nation not to provide healthcare as a right for all its people. The Healthy California Campaign is organizing support for Senate Bill 562 (SB562) to enact single-payer healthcare in California. There will be 3 speakers discussing their experiences in the healthcare industry and what simple actions we can all take to help support this bill. The discussion will be followed by questions from the audience.

This event will provide Spanish interpreters. Public parking lots are available behind the venue for for 2 hours and is free after 9pm. The location is reachable by the 2/302, 4, and 704 bus lines. This location is accesible for those with wheelchairs.
