Celebration of the life of Chuck Anderson
You may know that our elder and friend Chuck Anderson, a former member of the KPFK Local Station Board, former chair of the Orange County chapter of the ACLU, long-time activist with the Grassroots Community Radio Coalition, Change Links Community Calendar and Progressive News, committed internationalist and anti-imperialist, passed away recently, surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer. Chuck was a stalwart of our movement, here in southern California as well as in Mexico and the Bay Area, where he lived at various points in his long and active life.
A group of his friends, particularly from the Grassroots Community Radio Coalition, and some family members will be celebrating his life and contributions on Saturday, April 29, starting at 4:00 PM at the Peace Center, 3916 S. Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City CA 90230 (between Washington Pl and Venice Blvd; free parking in rear; dial 22 for entry). We will reminisce and share stories, photos and songs, and have a potluck dinner, as we rededicate ourselves to carrying it forward in the struggles for socialism, peace, solidarity, and free speech media that Chuck embodied and upheld. As the comrade often said, Red Salute! We hope you can make it to share your memories.
