Workers World Class & Discussion: Syria & N Korea – In the Crosshairs of Imperialism
“You furnish the pictures. I’ll furnish the war.” Publisher William Randolph Hearst in 1898, preparing the groundwork for the U.S. war with Spain and seizure of Cuba.
When: Wednesday April 19th – 6:30 pm (dinner), 7pm (class/discussion) Where: Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice - 5278 W. Pico Blvd, Los Angeles Contact: (323) 899-2003 The recent bombing of Afghanistan using the most powerful bomb since WWII is an urgent wake-up call to the antiwar movement; necessitating truthful information about U.S. targets. Hear eyewitness testimony from Workers World members who have been to both North Korea and Syria at this most important informal discussion. To build a movement that can make a difference, activists need a clear analysis of U.S. imperialist maneuvers.
The accusations against the Syrian government and its President Assad have been unanimous and thunderous in the capitalist media, Congress and the military. All this has gone on despite there being not one moment of investigation or one element of cogent proof that Damascus had any role in the alleged attack. The Syrian government has categorically denied the charges, but its denials have received no publicity in the capitalist media. Neither has the mountain of evidence pointing to the culpability of the U.S.-supported terrorist mercenaries in Syria, both in 2013 and now. In addition, the attack against Syria was also a nod towards war against the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (North Korea).
It is of utmost importance that information exposing the lies against demonized targets of U.S. imperialism are heard to build a public outcry against war that could stop or limit the nightmare of U.S. war being unleashed especially on the children of Syria and possibly North Korea.
