Join us March 26th for our monthly Feedback Sunday open mic from 3pm - 5pm. This month we will be honoring International Women's month, marking the 100 year anniversary of a general strike that led to a country's revolution! Women have always been in the front lines of the struggle for liberation and while activist and art have been a way to reach people from all walks of life. The works of Nina Simone in the 60?s influenced artist such as Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill and many more. In addition, Frida Kahlo?s art has been associated with primitivism, indigenism, and Surrealism. Kahlo?s artwork has grown profoundly influential for feminist studies and postcolonial debates. Join us as we not only celebrate International Women?s month, but the legacy of artist using their platform for social justice.
