7pm, this Friday, Feb. 24, free public forum, "Black & Queer Women: Leaders in the Struggle"
Join us on the 2nd floor of the First Unitarian Church, 2936 W 8th St, Los Angeles, California 90005, street parking available.
Black and queer women have ALWAYS BEEN at the forefront of the black liberation struggle! Long before the Underground Railroad and well after the street demos in Ferguson, women's steadfast leadership is often overlooked in the mainstream version of history. However, women's continued fierceness and inspiration make both black and queer women central to the continued success of these movements.
As Jeff Sessions assumes office and Trump attempts to place another proto-fascist into the Supreme Court, the time is NOW to celebrate our history as well as learn from women leaders.
Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation for an in-depth analysis and discussion of the role of Black and queer women in the history of Black liberation.
Limited parking on Westmoreland/8th. Red and Purple line to Wilshire/Vermont station
