SANTA MONICA, Sunday, October 30, 2005 – Every Sunday for the past two and half years members of Veterans for Peace have set up crosses for each US military death in Iraq on the beach in Santa Monica. The installation is called Arlington West. Sadly, the number grows with every passing week. This week 2016 crosses were set up. Veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and the current Iraq War all take part in the setting up of crosses both to honor the dead and to call for an end to the war and to bring the troops home now.
