LOS ANGELES - Cindy Sheehan interrupted her vigil and flew to Los Angeles Wednesday to be by her mother’s side. Cindy’s 74 year old mother, Sherly, was hospitalized Wednesday after suffering a stroke and is listed in sable condition.
The local mainstream corporate media has dogged Cindy from her first arrival at the airport to her hospital visit. Cindy has requested privacy and respect for her mother and her family during this time. She plans to return to Crawford as soon as possible and she is asking supporters to stay focused on the growing vigil in Crawford.
UPDATE: Cindy returned to Crawford Wednesday to resume her vigil outside the bush ranch.
LOS ANGELES - Wednesday, August 17, 2005 – Peace vigils were held throughout the Los Angeles County area in support of Cindy Sheehan and her efforts to speak with Bush in Crawford, Texas. Moveon.org the organization that coordinated vigils around the nation lists 4,124 people that registered for vigils in Los Angeles County. Widespread coverage by local TV news and reports of over 200 people at some sites indicate that these vigils were well attended.
