Over One Thousand March on Taco Bell! Groundbreaking Meeting between CIW and Taco Bell Follows Rally! BOYCOTT THE BELL!
On Monday March 11, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers' (CIW) Taco Bell Truth Tour reached its apex with a march and rally at Taco Bell World Headquarters which attracted more than one thousand participants; and, for the first time since the Boycott began, members of CIW met with representatives from Taco Bell to discuss the farmworkers' demands.

Rise Up 2002! Boycott Forever 21!
PACIFICA NATIONAL BOARD IN L.A. The Pacifica National Board met in Los Angeles for the 1st time in four years, the weekend of March 8, at the Virgil Middle School on Vermont Ave. This was especially sweet for listeners of local Pacifica station KPFK, since it marked the hard won victory over the "takeover" Board, which had plundered the network for the last few years.
There was a sense of pride, joy and accomplishment amongst the group of activist-listeners who came to watch their newly appointed Board work to rebuild the sorely wounded infrastructure of what is the only progressive, non-corporate sponsored public radio network in the nation. This sense of victory lasted throughout three days filled with often slow and tedious, but nonethless necessary, work.

Defeat the Three Strikes Law!
Global Women's Strike Hundreds of people marched through the streets of LA today (March 8, 2002), International Women's Day, for the 3rd Annual Global Women's Strike. Under the banner "Invest in Caring, Not Killing! Welfare, Not Warfare," the group made their way down Wilshire to MacArthur Park, stopping to demonstrate at the Bank of America, Social Security Office, Welfare Office and the Mexican Consulate.
