In the past year, over 125 weekly neighborhood vigils have sprung up on street corners all over the Southland, generating an amazing movement of autonomous, spontaneous grassroots activism on a scale never before seen in Southern California, or anywhere else in the nation. Although numbers are down, a committed core of activists remain, and are beginning to work together to support each other and share experiences, ideas, and strengths. Through this, vigil activists hope to build a decentralized network of community-based peace and justice efforts to pool our resources and harness the tremendous spirit of the Southland vigils to areas of shared activity, while celebrating the diversity and local autonomy that has so empowered the vigil phenomenon.
The first working meeting for the Congress of Vigils, Communities Organizing for Peace and Justice, is taking place:

What Really Happened? Conference Assembles To Bring The Truth To Light June 5th is the 35th anniversary of the assassination of Senator Robert Francis Kennedy in Los Angeles. The official story is that Sirhan Bishara Sirhan assassinated him with "20 years of malice aforthought" . The truth is quite different from the official spin and has been subverted by the 'justice system' and whitewashed by the mainstream media for decades. Sirhan is considered by many experts to have been the victim of mind control brainwashing and used as a scapegoat by the darkest elements of the american system.
In the latest of many attempts to bring the truth to light, the
Coalition On Political Assassinations has assembled with leading RFK assassination researchers to put together the following event: KILLING HOPE Conference "June 5-8 - Los Angeles, CA Radisson Hotel, 3515 Wilshire Blvd. (near Alexandria) COPA is co-sponsoring this event with Citizens For Truth About the Kennedy Assassination (CTKA). Confirmed speakers include Lawrence Teeter, Esq. (attorney for Sirhan Sirhan), Philip Melanson, PhD, William Turner, Jim DiEugenio and Lisa Pease. We are also approaching former LAPD member Mike Ruppert, and witnesses to the event to speak."
This conference will continue continue though June 6th-8th. Click Here for more info.
Hear Sirhan's Lawyer, Lawrence Teeter speak about the case and the Killing Hope event on kpfa radio's guns and butter.
