Javier Perez was one of the many peaceful protesters who was attacked and arrested by the Long Beach Police Department on May 1, 2001. On Mayday, he was an honor student at Valley College, enrolled in a program to increase his chance for acceptance to UCLA. Today, he's in Mexico, deported to a country he left at age 3 months.
